I Know Spring Has Arrived Because My Yard Is Full Of Dandelions
Be prepared for a crazy insect season. Wasps, flies, clover mites and ants are getting busy. We have even had some termites swarming. You might want to consider doing a spring service early to keep these insect invasions from entering into your home. Be sure to take advantage of our coupon specials.
We could have another year of the oak mites like last year. Not much can be done to prevent this mite. Check your oak trees for galls that emerge at bud break. The gall looks like a big seedpod or small tumor like growth on the leaves. Branches or stems. Prune out gall infected branches and twigs and make sure you burn or step on the galls to kill the developing larvae. Make sure you rake up fallen leaves and twigs because gall producing insects often overwinter in the debris.
Moles have also started making their appearance. We offer a 15% discount on mole treatment programs. All estimates are free so if you have noticed runs give us a call. The longer you wait the more they will tunnel all over your lawn.

I Thought It Was Supposed To Be Winter This Time Of Year??!!!
As usual, the and down in temperatures right now plays a role in insect and rodent activity. Rodents are especially confused. When it is cold they seek a warm place to inhabit, such as your home. There has been an abundant amount of rodent activity this year and the best way to keep them from establishing inside is to control them from the outside. Eliminate harborage areas such as leaf debris around foundations, wood piles not maintained, scrap wood left along foundations or under decks. Install exterior rodent stations to attract rodents to feed outside and not establish inside your home. Call for a quote for rodent control and receive 20% discount on the initial service.
Next, the ants will become active briefly and invade with these warming temperatures we experience during the winter. Roach populations have been on the rise during 2016. We have had extremes in the weather and that has been a factor in our insect populations being on the rise. Remember we offer 20% discount on residential initial services, so the next time you encounter an insect or rodent problem give us a call at 913-599-5990. We offer service appointments Monday through Saturday.

Spiders, spiders, everywhere.
That seems to be the number one problem plaguing customers now. As the temperatures go up and down the more numbers you will be seeing and their webbing is so annoying, especially when you walk into one leaving your house. The best solution for the spider problem is an exterior power spray to eaves, overhangs, soffits, foundation, thresholds and window wells. Shrubbery close to the house and tree limbs touching roof areas and exterior of homes give spiders another avenue into your residence. Check out our coupon section for discounts to save dollars and rid this annoyance from your home.

For those of you wanting that plush green lawn and not having that large water bill to achieve it, your wish came true.
Now, with that plush lawn is a lot of mowing, weed control, fungus control and those dreaded fleas, chiggers, mosquitoes, springtails, fungus gnats and a huge abundance of spider activity going crazy over all those insects. Be careful what you wish for!!!!
With the heat and humidity plus our on-going rainy days, the wasps and yellow jackets are becoming pretty annoying buzzing around decks and houses. They enjoy all those pretty blossoms and buds on your landscaping plants as well as ants being highly attracted to those. If you want help with the pesky pests just give us a call and see what customer discounts we have available for you.

We needed rain to catch up on our deficit but this has been unreal.
Those May flowers are probably flat on the ground by now. You are not alone if the ants have taken over your house and now the next big problem will be the springtails, fungus gnats, cicadas and cicada killers and the invasion of the water bugs. Read about the springtails on our web site to understand what lies ahead with those nuisance bugs. They do not bite but just appear by the hundreds in bathrooms, kitchen and laundry areas as well as all over the exterior of your home. Due to the nature of their extremely little body (size of a small flea), they can easily invade your home and the tail gives them that little spring hop. Reducing the humidity and just letting things dry out will help decrease their numbers. The best way to solve this problem is by having the exterior of your home treated. If you have your irrigation system on (which I do not know why you would) turn it off. The ground needs to dry out. If you want to enjoy your yard you may seriously think about having it treated for the up coming mosquito invasion. Not everyone experiences mosquitos, but they will be out very soon. We can fix that problem with a yard spray that will take care of them as well as fleas, ticks and chiggers (your pets will be grateful). Check out our special offers section for a discount coupon for a yard treatment.

So far, this has been a crazy spring, weather wise. Wasps and ants have been the front runner in being out early and in large quantities. Not just the occasional wasps flying around but many already buzzing around homes looking to build those dreaded nests.
Ants just aren’t a few here and there but trails coming in all over the house. A helpful tip for those ants, just wipe your counters with Clorox to break their scent trail while waiting for your exterminator. That won’t rid your home of ants but will repel them for a while. Look out for those dreaded clover mites that look like a red carpet coming in around windows and doors. Remember, do not try to wipe them up or you will have a big red smear on the surface you wiped. Best to take the vacumn to them to avoid the red smear. Hold on to your socks, the next nuisance invader coming very early are TICKS!!!!!. Customers have already seen those pesty guys and this year you may want to consider a yard treatment. call and I can give you a quote over the phone as long as you know the square footage of the yard area you want treated. Remember, all products used are environmentally friendly.
